The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliating Blemish Solution

The Ordinary is an evolving collection of treatments offering familiar, effective clinical technologies positioned to raise pricing and communication integrity in skincare.

Content Brief

The Ordinary called for experienced content creators to help roll out their line of Salicylic Acid products. They needed the visual content and copy to display a keen focus on the benefits of Salicylic Acid. These benefits included how The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliating Blemish Solution helped the appearance of blemishes, congestion, and facial oil on blemish-prone skin types. The Ordinary specifically asked that content exclude words such as “Treats Acne”, “Cures Acne”, or any medical claims. The skincare brand, however, called for content to include @theordinary, @ultabeauty, #theordinary, #salicylicacid, and a notice that the solution can be found at Ulta Beauty.

The stress of being human is getting to me, so I’m going to share how I calm my skin and mind after neglecting them. To stay sane I’ve just started assuming that everyone is trying their best, and I wondered if this would leave me susceptible to allowing mediocrity in my life and there’s nothing wrong with that..it’s not for me. Then I realized I am committed to always fighting for myself, to always advocating for myself, and that I have the right to step back from people's lives if their best isn’t enough for me. That conclusion that I have the power to leave a situation that I feel doesn’t bring out the best in me was the first step in me becoming just a bit more tolerant. I’m not being tolerant for others to be honest; mostly for myself. I wanted peace of mind and to not see people so negatively. What’s the harm in assuming the best of people and removing yourself when their best is detrimental to you? It’s that simple. (I know it’s not actually simple, not everyone is as naturally rebellious as I am but I believe anyone can learn to stand up for themselves and make their needs known.)

Recently introduced #salicylicacid complimentary from The Ordinary (@theordinary) into my skincare routine n lemme tell y’all sum: my zits QUIVER, QUAKE at the sight of that dropper😳! The new addition is a part of my commitment to learning to show myself love not just internally but externally😶‍🌫️🤗. You’re worthy of love with and without acne, and it’s okay to need a little extra help in taking care of yourself the way you want/need to. Those two concepts can exist at once.

I chose #TheOrdinary’s Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliating Blemish Solution because it’s great for oily, blemish-prone skin types such as mine! Salicylic acid doesn't just help facial blemishes but body blemishes, too. I’ve been using it on my back and, sisters🤯⁉️ Damn near nary is there a pustule on her!! Lmk if you want me to show y’all how much it’s cleared up my back on my story!

The Ordinary also dropped their new Salicylic Acid 2% Masque, but I opted not to use it this time around because my skin was inflamed. I didn't want to irritate it further. If you use it, lemme know how you like it!

You can find both the Solution and Masque at @UltaBeauty, both online and in-store. Click the link in my bio to get yours, my sweeties 😘😘
